Can you imagine a philharmonic orchestra performing without their maestro and sheet music? It would sound more like a cacophony than a symphony! It would be a lot like a wedding day without a Day of Coordinator (DoC) and a detailed time line! Neither one are truly enjoyable when not well orchestrated.
Couples working with a small budget or looking to limit expenses might be tempted to skip hiring a DoC. There is the idea that they can coordinate everything themselves. You can DIY a lot of things, but you can’t be in two places at once!
