Don’t Miss These 8 Great Walls

There’s nothing worse than a trendy sage and salmon spring wedding party photographed against an ornate wallpaper of navy and gold.

The walls of a venue may seem pretty insignificant, and will often go unnoticed, until the wrong one is the backdrop for your wedding day photos. Then, it’s too late!

Be sure to choose your walls well! The light, color, and texture of them will add to (or take away from) the aesthetics, guest experience, and the quality of your photos.

At Venue 1848, we proudly point out our diverse selection of walls and we are confident none of them will clash with the color scheme you choose for your wedding day. They will create the perfect backdrop for your photos that are both charming,  sophisticated and compatible with practically any theme you choose. We have highlighted eight of them for you in this blog.

  1. In the back of the building, as you enter the Green Gate Courtyard you will find our signature “love” wall, where you are encouraged to take a photo with someone you love or for someone you love. We love it for selfies,  fun couples photos, and smaller family group shots.

  2. And - there’s an amazing vintage white brick inside that courtyard. This wall is the perfect spot to give your light and airy photos depth and texture.

  3. Inside Venue1848, our big windows, high ceiling, and white plaster walls create that fine-art feel to your photos. Pair this with the deep rich dark wood floors and you have the perfect contrast for a very classy look.

  4. Upstairs in The Loft @Venue1848 you will love the old red brick wall, This background gives an amazing contrast and makes your white wedding dress pop. The texture of vintage brick is simple, and adds so much!

  5. Also in The Loft, the library walls are flooded with natural light that streams in from the skylight overhead . Getting ready photos never looked more beautiful.

  6. Outside, the big alley wall is full of industrial vibes characterized by distressed white paint over old red brick. From the alley you can also catch a view of the old train depot in the historic downtown district of Appomattox, Virginia. It’s  perfect for photographing everyone together.

  7. The trellis wall provides an airy feeling while closing the courtyard to the train tracks. With large ornamental grasses behind it, you will get great photos on either side of the wall! As the sun sets, long shadows spread across the courtyard for moody play of shadow and light.

  8. Also, inside of our Green GateC courtyard is our accent wall made of reclaimed pallet wood. It absolutely screams beer and barbecue! It is great for that rustic, super casual look.
